Downhill Bike Hire Morzine: Orange 324

Downhill Bike Hire Morzine - Orange 342

Orange 324 - Redesigned to go faster, built stronger

The Orange 324 has some serious history behind it now with it's origins stemming from the old 22x/32x bikes. Steve Peat took one of these bikes down many world cup tracks with some great results. The new 324 has been totally re designed, it's lighter, longer and slacker and now takes 27.5" wheels.

The 324 is a favourite with privateer racers throughout the world due to its simple and hassle free suspension design and linkage. These bikes are solid and won’t be falling apart on you whilst you fly down the Morzine trails. The 324 uses the split-rear triangle swingarm concept reducing weight and increases rigidity. They have also installed a 150mm rear end and 83m bottom bracket.

The new 27.5” wheels give the bike a more grounded feel as it sits lower than the 322. The bike also comes in a 200 grams lighter than before, our test bike set up with Fox suspension weighed in a 36.5lb.

It’s hard work keeping things simple, but we believe with the 324 we’ve built a downhill bike that will perform at the highest level, again and again and again with the minimum amount of maintenance and the maximum amount of time on the track.

Finale Ligure is arguably the home of enduro mountain biking as we know it today. Since the late 90's trails have been built here with mountain bike tourism in mind. The Enduro World Series has hosted it's final round here every year since it's conception. Despite 2018 being the last year of this tradition, the legacy continues with the Trophy of Nations in 2019.

You've just landed in Nice Airport, it's 10am, you've got you bike next to you, your buddies are groggy from the flight and the heat from the Mediterranean sun is filling you with a sense of vacation. We're seconds away from picking you up and driving along the Ligurian Coast to Finale Ligure, pseudo home of the EWS and the place to be if you want bikes, beach, beers and and all round great time.

Morzine has begun it's hibernation, the trails are being worked on ready for next summer, the lifts are closed and the restaurants are busy cleaning. It's time for Netflix, carpentry and tiling for many of the Portes du Soleil locals.
