Ok so the lifts are still open up in Avoriaz and the Brand new 3S super-fast cable car from Prodain has just opened taking 2400 people an hour up to Avoriaz. Down in Morzine town the Super Morzine bubble is still running to provide the link from Morzine to Avoriaz but the snow is melting on the lower slopes very quickly with all the sun we have been having over the past week and today we decided that’s it, time to get the bikes out!!

We drove up to the Super Morzine Bubble car park and grabbed the bikes out of the van and off we went, dragging the bikes through 20cm of slushy, wet snow whilst receiving some very strange looks from the lifties just finishing their days work. We were heading for a local track that is not on the trail map, This track starting slightly lower than others we thought it would be snow free and it was, after another 200 meters of deep spring snow.

However when we got into the woods just below the lift station we found what we were looking for, dry on top, soft and loamy underneath and break bump free after a good winter compacting down all the dead leaves, trees and grass to create a near perfect trail ready for some brand new tires to rip down into. After a couple hundred more meters down the trail the spring leaves totally covered the trail and made things more interesting, with rocks, roots and branches hidden underneath meaning the concentration had to be on point or tumbles were inevitable.

We have had an amazing winter season out here in Morzine and it looks like Spring is well and truly here, with the final ski lifts closing this weekend in Avoriaz it looks like the uplifts will start, the trail building tools will come out and the summer will begin. We can’t wait as we are sure none of you can. If after looking through our site you cannot find the appropriate self-catered accommodation in Morzine or the perfect MTB chalet drop us an email with your specific requirements and we will find something to suit.

If you can't wait for spring then get booked into our chalet in Finale Ligure for some spring time shredding. This combined with a Morzine holiday adds up to 6 months of very jealous mates!

Hi Guys,

So I guess the first question is, who is Fergus Ryan? I am 25 years old and I am the marketing manager for MTB Beds. I have been racing since I was 16, starting in Downhill before turning my focus to enduro 2 years ago. I love all things two-wheeled and pushing my limits both physically and mentally when it comes to racing.

A buzzing ski resort packed full of restaurants, bars and alpine culture, Morzine's restaurant scene was once a fairly drab affair in Summer, owners preferring to take the time off or open softly with a minimal menu and hours. Not so now with Summer offering new opportunities, new ingredients, new menus and new, sunny terraces breathing new life into the town. This is driven by the young generation of Morzinoise and British owners who are ready to move with the times.

Liguria is a region rich in food culture in a country obsessed with what goes on the plate. There simply is nowhere else in the world that cares so passionately about food. The dedication to eating well shouldn't be mis-understood, it's not about fine dining, table cloths and intricate presentation, it's about love.
