Morzine has it all for mountain biking. Steep? Roots? Rocks? Fast? Berms? Jumps? Technical? Natural? Machine built? All check. Sometimes the spirit for adventure takes hold and you just need to get out there and explore something new.

Morzine MTB holidays are nothing new these days in the Portes du Soleil and there have been tourists flying down these hills for over 20 years. Buts what's really involved in making that dream Mountain Bike holiday in Morzine become a reality.

Morzine is known throughout the mountain biking community for it’s long, steep downhill tracks, both official and unofficial. Now, we’re not about to reveal where Morzine’s secret trails are! But, we would like to speak a little about them and where we hope to see the Morzine downhill tracks in the coming years.

Getting to Morzine, There are two ways to get to Morzine. Both have advantages and their disadvantages. Depending on your group size and ability to withstand time in an enclosed space with your friends, one may be harder work than the other! A huge thing to consider is how long the journey will take you, and what state of mind you arrive in.

The thing with Morzine is, you’re going to be pushing yourself. Unless you live in the Alps, it’s unlikely you come across 30 meter root sections, relentless, jagged rock gardens or trails you’d struggle to walk down that last for 10 minutes, let alone lift assisted with the opportunity to get 20 or more laps in a day for the whole holiday!

Morzine is not all about mountain biking. Nor is it all about walking trails off into the hills. The area is teeming with things to see and do with a family, or even as a down day if you are here primarily for the biking.

What's on offer?

Finale Ligure is not any normal kind of trail centre. These trails are built and maintained, but not groomed. The terrain is as diverse as passengers on the London underground, the sheer scope and crossword puzzle like nature to the way the riding areas present themselves blows your mind the first, second and third time you visit. Bike Park Wales is a lot of fun, but this ain't Kansas anymore Dorothy. Simply put, it's an adventure like no other.

We all know how good Phil Atwill is at riding mountain bikes and that means one thing, he needs a bloody good bike.
