Though many mountain bikers across the world managed to get in some kind of season between July and September 2020, with bike parks in Europe and North America opening, 2020 will go down as a year we'd rather put behind us. The Morzine summer was one of the best yet, with brand new tracks and and a great atmosphere in town despite the Covid restrictions, so we know when we are all finally back in a state of normality the stoke will be all time!

Read on to find out the latest on Lift opening dates for Morzine, Les Gets and beyond with news on events scheduled for the Summer including the return of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Les Gets and the Passportes du Soleil.

Passportes du Soleil - Back in Les Gets! - 25th, 26th & 27th June

Lift queue at the Pleney is long but really fast

The Passportes du Soleil is an incredibly popular mountain bike festival that has been running for well over a decade, infact the 2021 edition will be the 17th Passportes event. What is it? In a nutshell it's an organised tour around all the Portes du Soleil's summer resorts, with each location offering pop up food, drink and music tents, it's a chance to get out into a nature with a whole bunch of interesting mountain bike folk.

Each year the 'salon' moves to a different town. The salon is where you'll find all the trade stands, bike shops and event offices and is the focal point of the festival, for 2021 this will be Les Gets, who are also hosting the Mountain Bike World Cup on the 3rd . 4th July, so it'll be a jam packed schedule for the resort!

Dates available (Entries are per day)

Friday 25th | Thursday 26th | Friday 27th June

Included for €62 per person per day

  • Rider Pack, with your number plate and a goody bag.
  • Lift pass
  • 80km of riding between France and Switzerland
  • 6000m of downhill
  • 1000m of uphill
  • 7 Food and drink points, think BBQ, roasted hams, tartiflette, local charcuterie, beer and wine
  • 8 Resorts

We are often asked if this is an event worth doing. Yes! and no....

If you want to shred the best trails in the Portes du Soleil super fast, lapping, gapping and schralping gnarly bike park and off piste, don't. The lift queues can be long and most of the trails are the easiest, path of lest resistance, often busy. This ain't no race.

If you're keen for a day out on the bikes having a laugh, are pretty chilled about the riding and would like to go out with your mates and a whole lot of like minded European mountain bikers, it's a pretty cool day out and one you'll have a good laugh taking part in.

UCI Mountain Bike World Cup on in Les Gets - 3rd & 4th July

World Cup Les Gets accommodation

Yes! The return of World Class downhill racing with spectators. Les Gets, Month Chery, July 3rd & 4th 2021.

The UCI World Cup will make it's only peak summer stop in Les Gets at the beginning of July, straight after the Passportes du Soleil event. With the previous round in Leogang at the beginning of June and the next in Val di Sole at the end of August, there will be hordes of World Cup athletes in resort throughout the summer mountain bike season in Morzine and Les Gets.

As one of the best events of the 2019 calendar, expect fireworks from the riders and the fans as the battle continues between the fastest Frenchies Loic Bruni, Loris Vergier and Amaury Pierron as they take it to the old guard of Greg Minnaar, Danny Hart and Troy Brosnan while young hot shots like Laurie Greenland and Matt Walker continue their rise to the top of the sport.

Fox Hit the Park - Date TBC

Fox Hit the Park mountain bike event

An awesome day out for everyone. Fox Hit the Park is a pretty simple idea, getting riders motivated to shred together and doing it with a list of pros, ambassadors and industry heavies, with the fun captured by a photographer and videographer. The MTB Beds crew will be there, with the whole team getting up there during the day.

This will return to Super Morzine in 2021, events in previous years attracting tons of riders hosted by pros like Andreu Lacondeguy, Loris Vergier, Loic Bruni, Kaos and Tahnee Seagrave, Pierre Eduoard Ferry and many more.

Hit the Park action in 2020

Starting at The Woods bike shop in the morning for a coffee, the day rolls on with sessions on trails, jumps and other features, the 2019 event saw a mad huck fest on Avoriaz MTB's new hip jump feature, built and tested for Fox Hite the Park. Chablais Bike will be there with their BBQ and the good vibes will roll!

Reboul Jam - Date TBC

The Reboul Jam is hosted by slopestyle rider Louis Reboul every year at the bottom of the Pre la Joux lift in Chatel. Purpose built jumps with huge wooden kickers are permanently setup with mulch landings, then tweaked before the event so some of the best pros can bust their moves over a weekend of action.

Previous events have seen Louis Reboul, Antoine Buffart, Anthony Rocci, Thomas Genon, Bienvenido Aguado, Nico Vink, Vincent Tupin, Jackson Goldstone and many more strutting their stuff for the fans.

Harley Days - 15th -18th July

Either you want to avoid or be at this festival. You may love Harley's or you may just love the crazy characters that descend upon Morzine for this bi-annual festival. There is a big concert on during the event, with bands like Toto having played in the past (they were actually legit).

It's loud and the town is packed, the trails are quieter. If you love or don't mind the Harley's it's a great week to come, if you don't, avoid. Personally we aren't sure what a Harley Davidson Festival has to do with Morzine but hey I'm sure people look at us mountain bikers funny too.

2021 looks set to make up for the stresses and strains of 2021, it's going to be massive and we cannot wait to get stuck in!
