Finale Ligure has exploded over recent years into one of the finest Mountain Bike destinations in the world. With this, the Finale Outdoor Region has been going from strength to strength since it stepped up from a volunteer-run guide for the community to a fully-fledged organisation with backing from the town, the hotels, bars, restaurants and shuttle companies. It's been a huge task and at times it seems like it's been difficult to bring everyone's ideas of what Finale Ligure is or should be, together under a united concept.
A key to this has been funding. Though most shuttle companies and operators like us pay to use the trails and maintain their upkeep, it's not always enough to keep this vast area under control, which is where the FOR card comes in.
The FOR card enables users to directly contribute to the upkeep of the trail network by literally riding them, drinking beers and eating great food. Not so bad! The card costs €10 per year, this covers a subscription and this money is directly paid to Finale Outdoor Region. Then every time you use the card at a participating member, a portion of the transaction goes toward trail building.
Buy a beer? You're helping reshape a berm. Eat a pizza? You just cleared 10 metres of scrubland for a new trail. Take a shuttle or a trip with MTB Beds? That's just paid for someone to strim a section of Isallo Ecstacy. All you have to do is show the card when you buy something at one of the partners and the rest is looked after at no extra cost to you.
You'll also accumulate points each time you use the card, which can be used to get discounts on things like the Finale Outdoor merch and single uplift services. You'll also get a trail map and an Outdoor Active Pro membership for 15 days, as well as 500 free points.
We are pretty stoked on this idea and want you guys to get behind it so we'll have these cards available to all of our Riders Week clients when holidaying with us in Finale Ligure, we'll contribute half the cost of the membership fee for the year for every client booking in 2022 on top of our contributions to Finale Outdoor Region.
