What a roller coaster of a year 2020 has been! At the time of writing it's early July and the full Portes du Soleil is open, the trails are running as good as they ever have, if not better. The cancellation of the Les Gets World Cup does mean that lifts will be closing earlier than previously advertised across the Portes du Soleil. Super Morzine's network closes on the 1st September, Pleney and Les Gets on the 6th. Chatel will open weekends throughout September, meanwhile Champery Morgins will maintain operations late into October.

There were HUGE plans for this year not only from us but for the lift operators and resorts aswell. Though many have been shelved this is still, against the odds going to be a rad season. We are pushing to make the efforts of later openings a thing in 2021 and we hope those of you that can make it this year do so, everyone needs a holiday at the moment!

This is the page to follow all the latest updates on lift opening dates for Morzine, Les Gets, Super Morzine, Chatel, Morgins and Champery.

  • From Pleney shapers Sandy Termier & Hugo Platre - " Regarding the tracks, we redid everything with the mechanical shovels in the Black, the 2 blue and the top of the red, with some different trajectories and jumps reworked. The names of the tracks will change too, We work hard to formalize some freeride on the top of the Pleney, it's not won yet, but we are on it and we loose nothing. Do you want to know things in particular?

We redid all the blue Atray which had only flat turns, we traced everything with the mechanical shovel. In the top of the red we made again jumps, and changed the trajectory after the bridge coming out of the woods. We redid the upper part which joins the lower part and thus avoids a long straight line not interesting. In the black, we have remodeled all existing turns and made a new route after the tunel just before the long straight that serves a lot of freeride. At this place we created 2 bends to get into a small natural gully. The blue familly was taken from top to bottom also with small jumps, more than there was to make the track more playful

  • From Neil Sharp, shaper on Super Morzine - "Pretty much all the tracks have had a go over this autumn. A few changes have been made to Tutti Frutti and Cap Canaveral to remove sections of track that get beaten up too quickly. The road gap on D.A.Trail has had a makeover, and also the last gap/step down before the bigger river gap on Hattock. We’ve also extended the uphill e-bike track so you can go from the bottom to top of Seraussaix"

The insane crowds and wild action of the 2019 World Cup

Les Gets made a welcome return to the World Cup circuit in 2019, an amazing turn out of fans from across the world made it one of the liveliest World Cup's ever. All there to cheer on their favourite racers, who even if not French felt at home in this vibrant mountain bike community that many call their home from home during the season.

Mont Chery has seen some of the greatest downhill races of all time, from Steve Peat's victories and disasters to the new French domination of the sport from the likes of Loic Bruni and Amaury Pierron. What makes Les Gets special is it's proximity to some of the best riding in the world, the Portes du Soleil. It's also one of the few World Cups that you can actually ride your bike in the host resort, with the Chavannes lift open on the opposite side of the hill to the race track.

With the famous course that snakes it's way down Mont Chery one of the fastest and most popular amongst racers, we know 2020 will be an absolute banger!
