Approaching our fourth year operating in Finale Ligure, we are proud to call this iconic destination a home. Years of ground work before setting up, developing relationships and doing our upmost to integrate into the community have given us a profound sense of feeling welcome and part of the amazing bike scene.

The mountain bike trails of Le Pleney in Morzine are world famous and for very good reason. This little hill with 600 metres of elevation holds some of the most technical, steep, rooty, flat out tracks you can find anywhere in Europe, if not in the world.

So I guess the first question is, who is Fergus Ryan? I am 25 years old and I am the marketing manager for MTB Beds. I have been racing since I was 16, starting in Downhill before turning my focus to enduro 2 years ago. I love all things two-wheeled and pushing my limits both physically and mentally when it comes to racing.

A buzzing ski resort packed full of restaurants, bars and alpine culture, Morzine's restaurant scene was once a fairly drab affair in Summer, owners preferring to take the time off or open softly with a minimal menu and hours. Not so now with Summer offering new opportunities, new ingredients, new menus and new, sunny terraces breathing new life into the town. This is driven by the young generation of Morzinoise and British owners who are ready to move with the times.

Liguria is a region rich in food culture in a country obsessed with what goes on the plate. There simply is nowhere else in the world that cares so passionately about food. The dedication to eating well shouldn't be mis-understood, it's not about fine dining, table cloths and intricate presentation, it's about love.

There are three scenarios we could forsee mountain bikers wanting to go white water rafting in Morzine. It is an awesome trip down the Dranse river, which flows through Morzine and eventually ends up in Lake Geneva, but lets face it, trying to convince a group of riders on a weeks holiday to step off the bike and get wet for an afternoon is going to be as easy trying to get them to clean up after dinner!

Morzine maybe the cultural home of mountain biking in Europe but it's not all about shredding the Pleney or catching sweet air on Super Morzine. There's so much to do in this beautiful corner of the alps, from activities you know like paddle boarding or tennis to ones that you may not like hydro speeding or taking on a Via Ferrata.

The Portes du Soleil (PDS) is the biggest lift assisted mountain bike area in Europe containing  650 km of marked trails. The scope here is just incredible and anyone who visits leaves wanting to come back wondering what could be in store for them on their next trip, amateurs, pro's and weekend warriors alike.

The 2019 bike season in Europe is set to be an amazing year for riding, spectating and for us at MTB Beds. With The Aosta Valley up and running, The UCI World Cup returning to Les Gets and our second catered property in Morzine, Chalet Ice, it's time to get pumped for another season on the trails!
